Booting three field goals, including a pair 50-yarders, earned Daniel Carlson national recognition.

A two-time finalist for the Lou Groza award, Auburn’s kicker was among three “Stars of the Week” recognized by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, which administers the Groza award, along with South Florida’s Emilio Nadelman and New Mexico’s Jason Sanders.

Carlson made three field goals from distances of 41, 52 and 54 yards and nine touchbacks on 10 kickoffs in Auburn’s 51-14 win at Missouri. The 54-yard kick is tied for the fourth-longest in the FBS this season.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn proclaimed Carlson was “back” after the pair of 50-yard field goals after starting the season 5 for 8 with a miss from 26 yards.
