CHICAGO, Ill. – Seniors Garrett Dolan and Danny Garza have been selected to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team that was announced Monday. Dolan was a Second Team selection while Garza was a Third Team honoree.
Garza, a San Antonio native, picked up third team honors after appearing in every HBU football game in program history as the team’s long snapper. In 2016, he did not have a fumbled snap on 25 field goal attempts, 21 extra-point attempts and 80 punts. Additionally, Garza was the snapper on Alec Chadwick‘s 60-yard made field goal at Incarnate Word on Nov. 17, the longest field goal in NCAA Division I (both FBS and FCS) all season.
Dolan and Garza were joined on the STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team by seven other Southland players, including five from Sam Houston State and three from Central Arkansas.
